internet was down

AGAIN... the 3rd time in this month. It usually takes them less than 24 hours to fix the problem but this time it took them 5 days. The tehnician from internet company had configured the modem with me over the phone for so many times but it still did not work. In the end, they had to contact the ground line company and they decided to disconnect my ground line and reconnect it back again. Anyway, connection is back to normal now. Hopefully this will be the last time after all the hassles.

I am hungry. My apartment is full of KFC's smell which makes me feel even more hungry. No, I did not tapao any KFC. I got this free smell from the store just a few shops away from my apartment ==''' 7 days a week, unlimited supply of free smell during trading hours.

Dawn is one of the student doing placement in Gawler and she lives in GAWLER!!! She and her family being really nice and offered to let me and Sharon to stay in her place during placement. She has 4 sons, 2 of them already moved out. That why she has an extra room for us. At first, we were afraid that our stays will bring them i convenience. She said she has no daughter, so she is very happy when her 2 sons' girlfriend and fiance come to visit them. Therefore, she is more than happy when both of us are staying there. She asked us what do we like to drink so that she can get some for us after we finish our evening shift which ends at 10:45pm, added another bed in the room so that there are 2 single beds, put 2 nicely rolled-hotel-styled-towels on the rack and 2 boxes of chocolates by the sides, and a big teddy on the top rack which it was not there when we first visit, so that it looks more like a girl's room =) Before we slept, we went to say goodnight to her. We used body language since she was on the phone, did not aspect that she actually ignore her phone conversation for a while and said SO many times of "night night" and "sleep tight" hehe... so cute. When we walked to the room, I overheard she said this on the phone:"I found 2 girls......" LOL!!! She is so nice, we are really greatful that we met her.

Oh no... I am eating just plain nutella again >.<
Before i forget, SELAMAT MENYAMBUT HARI MERDEKA! I do not know why, the desire to celebrate Merdeka day is so strong this year. Sharon and I went for our Merdeka Eve dinner. A so called 3-course-meal in 3 different places. Appetizer: 1/2 dozen of fresh oysters at oyster shop. We wanted to eat something cold because yesterday's weather was really hot. Main course: A main seafood spaghetti at the strand

Dessert: 2 regular ice creams from baskin robin.
We wanted to buy fireworks afterthat, but we forgot...

Everyone is leaving =(

So many people are leaving Adelaide. First, Ah Shen left to Singapore in May after finishing his degree. Then, Gwyneth went to Melbourne in June to work. Derek went to Perth in early July to work. Jing went back to Malaysia on 28th July. Chris went to Melbourne a fews weeks ago because he got a job offer. Jordan went to Bribane a few days ago for his new job. Adrian is going back to Malaysia tomorrow after his graduation ceremony on Thursday, and he has already got a job waiting for him back there. Lastly, Amy(plus Justin the Pomeranian) is going to leave on next Thurdays to join Chris in Melbourne. So, a total of eight person and a dog left/leaving in four months. And these are actually people that I usually hang around with other than my uni friends.

Amy keep asking me to do credit transfer since most of them are going to be in melbourne. She was like, "credit transfer la..." or "think about it, they are sending you to Gawler!!!" or "hey, how is credit transfer going?" everytime we meet up. Haha! It was so funny! No doubt that Melbourne is more happening than Adelaide but it is almost impossible for me to move there because the living cost in Melbourne is way higher compared to Adelaide. They also do not have concession price for international students using public transport which is expensive! If I want to go Melbourne, I could have applied for nursing over there in the very first place. Melbourne is too crowded for me or probably I sort of got used to life in Adelaide. I do not feel secure walking alone in Melbourne CBD which I enjoy doing that in Adelaide, whether is walking to China Town or in the park. It will just be a place that I would go to visit my friends, for FOODS and shopping. Confirm I will broke each time after visiting Melbourne >.<

tired, exhausted

I just got a call from the services manager of Gawler Health Services this morning. She told me a bad news because there is no available accommodation for students. OH NOOOOO!!! She asked if I or Sharon has got a car, I said no. Then she told me that a nurse offered to let us stay in her place but it is 5 mins drive from the hospital because it is not situated in the town. We need a car to get in and out. bummer... How long would it takes if we walk? 5 mins drive = 20 mins walk??? Sigh... I am so tired of thinking solutions for this problem. I've got no more energy to think how to solve it. Parents are going to be worry about my safety if I have to walk to the train station at 5:30am and reaching home midnight. Stupid uni never thought about the students' safety problem. Simply send students for clinical placements without looking at their address. How ridiculous it is to send someone 55km away from their house?!?! great...

clinical placement

I have been doing those packing and unpacking jobs since before i moved and also after moved. It is so difficult to do the unpacking especially when you are moving from a big house to a small house. I had to throw so many things away because I really do not have enough space to keep them with me. About 80% of cleaning up has been done since Jing left. Another 20% is still waiting for me at the corner. Sometimes, I just thought of throwing everything away so that I do not have to do so many things.

Venues for clinical placement were out on Monday. I was lucky that I got a DEU rather than block. Doing a block placement means I have to stay Adelaide until 21st December. So 1 whole month of holiday is gone doing placement. Although I got a DEU(starting in next 3 weeks until a week before exam), I was one of the bad luck ones because I was sent to Gawler, which is a semi-rural hospital, ~50km from Adelaide, and the only public transport is by train. It is too far until no bus services there. How great it is... My early shift starts at 6:45am and the earliest train reaches the station at 6:59am. By the time I walk to the hospital, I guess the time will be around 7:15am and confirm that I'll miss the handover time. The clinical placement administrator said I can just tell my Principle Academic that I will be late. But the thing is I do not want to miss handover because that is the time where you will get most of the information of the patients. Otherwise I will be lost when taking care of my patients not knowing what is exactly happening to them. And that could possibly lead to a failure in this topic. I tried to put a message on the topic's forum to see if there is anyone that can swap with me. It was posted up on Tuesday but until today still no reply. It is too far, I know. I actaully do not mind doing rural placement, I think I will enjoy it. It is just the distance and transport problem. It takes one hour by train to reach there. Just thinking of going up twice a week makes me feel sick.

The aunty in my workplace actually offered to let me stay in her place and drive her car to Gawler since she is staying in Mawsons Lake. How nice of her... but I have not been driving for 3 years+ Then she said I can catch bus to Elizabeth and change bus to Gawler. I feel bad disturbing her because I will be waking up early in the morning. But if I have no choice, that is my last resort. Sigh~~~
